At the most critical juncture of his life, Sid-A's debut full-length LP Kindly, Do Not Do Drugs! addresses the societal stigma against drug addicts and speaks about the factors leading to drug addiction. Sid's mission is to share the unnoticed, unaddressed and unspoken truths he experienced first-hand.

Staying true to its hip-hop roots, the project's message is metaphoric and juxtaposes witty sarcasm with hard-hitting poetry.

Objective

Represent the album to be the energetic and production-heavy underground project that it is, while bringing through the gritty and hard-hitting intent that it is rooted in.

Outcome

A new take on the 'psychedelic' experience often associated with drug use, a vibrant visual language was developed to represent the myriad of perspectives and real-life experiences Sid draws from to re-write our outlook on addiction. A layered, textured, and tactile finish accentuates the gritty nature of the stigma at the core of the project.

Note: Mid-way through its release-cycle, Sid decided to roll back the launch of the LP due to a change in his objectives with the project.

Cover art of the ‘Stories of Charlottetown’
Stories of Charlottetown — Single

Sid's experience with the drug-abuse culture of Charlottetown are the roots of this record. Stories of Charlottetown is an homage to the city's unspoken stories, heightened delusions, and hypocrisy.

The artwork features an iconic part of downtown Charlottetown.

Alone, Alone — Single

Loneliness and isolation are a natural by-product of societal ostracisation. Drenched in darkness, you find yourself walking down a narrow path, constantly constricted and closed off from everyone else. Societal expectations loom over you like walls that force you to only look ahead and keep moving forward.
Early-stage sketch of ‘Alone, Alone’'s cover art. Sketch is of a person walking down a constricting road, with walls looming over on both sides.
Cover artwork of the third signle, ‘Around My Brain’
Around My Brain — Single

A journey through confused thoughts, Around My Brain is a cocaine-induced trip through illusions, fantasies and fading realities.

Drawing straight from a couple of bars from the record, the initial concept was a juxtaposition of a dilated pupil—a common sign of intoxication; and a camera lens—to signify the projects attempt at discussing substance abuse via different lenses and perspectives.
